Ahoy me maties! Help your guests find their way to your party with homemade treasure map invitations. Draw a simple diagram with houses and landmarks and use an X to mark your house.
Red and black balloons and streamers will make great decorations. Cut out a large picture of a skull and crossbones and stick it onto the wall. Make a poster saying, “Ahoy – Welcome Aboard” and stick it on the front door. Use home-made treasure maps as place mats on each table; put instructions on each table with clues to find treasure that you have hidden in the Lost Temple Jumping Castle. Chocolate money is a great idea for hidden treasure.
As kids arrive, give them homemade eye patches, swords and bandannas. Draw fake mustaches and battle scars on their faces and put removable tattoos on their arms.
An adaptation of the old favourite. A supervising adult needs to have some music close at hand. All children are given a cushion to sit on in the castle. The music is played, and the children weave their way around the cushions. When the music stops, all children have to sit on a cushion. Then, one cushion is removed, and the music commences. When the music stops, one child will be left standing. That child should sit on the mat, and watch the fun. Remove a cushion each time, and the last one sitting wins. Just a hint, perhaps give the music responsibilities to the first person out, just to make them feel special.
